Politics
Christian Perspectives on Politics & Public Issues.
Understand politics from a Christian worldview with biblical insights on public affairs, societal issues, and moral challenges.
"The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17
"Do you indeed speak justly, O rulers? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men? No, in your hearts you devise injustice; with your hands you mete out violence on the earth." Psalm 58:1-11
"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." Proverbs 14:34
The Christian Worldview: The Holy Bible must not be viewed and interpreted through any political lens. The Holy Bible must inform our politics. Our politics must align with what is written in the Bible, not the other way around. Ultimately, politics is not the solution to the miseries that exist in this sin cursed world. Yet Christians ought to vote their conscience, selecting candidates who if elected are likely to pursue and enact government policies consistent with Christian moral principles, that we may live quiet and peaceable lives.
As an argument against political candidates that many Christians support, a common accusation and criticism of Christians by ungodly people in opposition to Christianity and biblical morality is that Christians are hypocrites when they support a conservative political candidate who is not of good moral character. What the ungodly fail to understand or recognize is that while Christians would love to support fellow Christians the opportunity to do so is quite rare because as we all know, the world of politics is corrupt, so few Christians will run for office and of those who do, even fewer are elected. So this is why often the best Christians can hope for is a politician who promotes Christian friendly government policies.
